## About Jean-Michel Jarre

Jean-Michel Jarre (born 24 August 1948, Lyon, France) is a French composer, performer and music producer. He is one of the most influential pioneers of electronic and ambient music, internationally recognised for his innovative use of synthesizers, sequencers and spectacular large-scale live performances.

His father, Maurice Jarre, was an acclaimed film composer. Jean-Michel studied guitar and piano before attending the École supérieure d'art de Paris. He began his professional career in the late 1960s as a sound engineer and producer.

## Instruments

### ARP 2600
A semi-modular analog synthesizer by ARP Instruments (1971). Highly influential in shaping early electronic music sounds. Used extensively by Jarre on early recordings.

### Moog Modular Synthesizer
The classic modular synthesizer system by Robert Moog. A cornerstone of Jarre's sound design from the earliest albums.

### EMS VCS3
